Type "lambo" in the text field, then go check the box to search in the archives as well as the current posts, then highlight the C4 section, and finally click search. If you follow those steps you should get a list of threads:

Well I'll be dipped! It worked! I'm not used to following instructions. Maybe that is why have a lot of parts left over when I finish a project

Now now... a handfull of various odd-sized bolts is okay. But actual PARTS left over, well then you just aren't paying attention!

BUt if all you have left over is bolts, you can't build anything with it.

The way I work on cars, I'll have enough left over parts to build another corvette soon.

If the parking space is too tight to open your door, it's too tight for the car next to you as well. God I hate door dings. If I could velvet rope off my car every time I parked and thought no one would key it I would!! Instead, I take a backpack and trek across the parking lot!!

I have always liked how these doors look on cars at car shows, however I have not been able to justify the high cost for what is really 4 door hinges.

I have the swing up doors and am looking for a blade that fits the bottom of the door. I really need to cut some cheese.

Well, OK, knowbody likes the idea of lambo doors on a vette. Trying to make my '86 different from every other one. It's not an ultra low mileage car . I'm also looking at the wood dash upgrade. Has any one seen it installed? Does it look factory or like someone stuck on some wood panel retro fit?

"Different" could easily mean a testostrone-swollen LS2. That way, you still get to look good and have something different while striking terror into your competitors. The LS series engines seem to be the wave of the future.

Unless it's a cadillac, woodgrain dash kits look horrible on ALL cars.
I have seen MANY C4's with even the expensive wood kits, and they all look terrible IMO. If you want a custom look, paint some trim pieces... its cheaper and looks way cooler IMO than any of those stick on kits.

Some cool things to change are... door handle inserts (just the piece where the interior door handle and lock are)... the front and rear speaker grills... At one time (before mine got smashed by a burglar) I had the square area around the gauges painted to match my car also...I also have custom speaker grill fabric to match my car as well. I got LOTS of compliments on them at the car shows I attend.

Those can all be done for the price of a can of paint and some fabric from the fabric store.

You won't see many "unique" things done to C4s since most of those people are all "purists".

If you like it, do it. I think lambo doors are horrible, but thats my opinion. I honestly wouldn't spend the money on them though because in my experience... the only ones that will notice them are people at a car show, and the ones that I have seen like that at car shows all get shunned and laughed at (unless you have some really crazy custom work done, bling bling)...

A lot of people don't like what I've done with my car, but people at car shows must because I win awards and get compliments on stuff all the time.

and the MOST IMPORTANT thing... "I" like the way it looks.

SO... if you want wood grain dash, thats YOUR taste... I hate it personally, but if YOU like it, go for it. but to answer you question, it doesn't look "right" in that style car and always looks like "oh hey that guy got a stick on dash kit. how delightfully tacky"

hope that helps. I am one of those people always looking for things to do as well.... if you wany pics or ideas of stuff i've done, feel free to PM me I know theres quite a few others on here that have done little customizations here and there too that might chime in if you want to go that route.

Except that on most cars that have this kit, they have to open out before they can open up. You also have to watch that you don't hit your head and that the door doesn't fall down on you(it's happened).

Alcee1 has a wood kit on his 84, and normally, I would agree. But the goldish paint, with the brownish interior work VERY well with the wood grain.

I bet the weatherstripping wouldn't work properly and would leak horrendously in the rain.

Guys...

1st let me tell the "Honest Truth" (Mojo can verify it) I AM 63 Yrs Old ....Maybe its senility or maybe I had too much med's at the Senior Citizen Home..

Here's what I'm planning for My C4 I drag race it.. (& do pretty well) again ask Mojo However I do have my moments where my age showes... I ran over my TAG Weather system last week ($429 shot)

But this thread really has me on a roll... I just put on the Maxwell House Coffee Cans on my exhaust...

And I just got off the phone with several venders... I ordered ..

1. Florescent lights to put under the side rocker panels..

2.I got stick on FLAMES for the hood

3. Also spinner hubcaps.. not what your thinking.. these keep on spinning even after you come to a stop !!

4. I am having hydraulics installed on the front wheels so at the race track they will "THINK" I'm doing a wheelie when I leave the line...

5. I also cashed in my IRA and bought a 4,000 watt Kicker speaker to install in the rear... I'm deaf anyway but the BASS vibrations will probably "Turn Me On" not much else does ,,, unless I go to an Import Race and see all the 16 yr old "Eye Candy" .....I only say that because when I married my wife she was a 34C now she is a 34L (long)

6. Do you guys think a fuzzy thing on my mirror would look tacky ?

7. I also ordered a TRIPLE Level Wing.. I know its kinda tall.. but it sure helps those Honda's FLY at the track..

8. I tinted my windows Chrome so they look like a mirror & you can't see me when I'm at the line...

9. I also put the slicks on the front wheels to sorta fake out the competition.. they wont know if I'm front wheel Drive or Rear Wheel Drive.. Good Idea I think ... damn I'm getting smarter with age...Imigine when I hit 80

10. Last but not least.. I'm leaving this open for you guys to please help me with my future mods...

PS I already have the Type R stickers on both sides & a Chrome one on the hood..

Again thanks for listening & any help would be appreciated...
