I installed a monoblade on my '92 supercharged L98. I know it is overkill for it, but I got a good deal when I bought it with a miniram. I put it on my stock plenum and manifold, and it sticks. The idle will not go below 1500 no matter what I adjust it to, then it will stick at 3 or 4,000 out driving it. My thought is maybe the boost is holding it open. Any ideas or anyone who wants to trade for a 58mm?
You will find that there is mechanical interference. Remove the throttle and cruise cables and rotate the throttle lever open/shut. If it still binds, remove the TPS sensor (note the TPS reading with throttle closed, probably 0.56 or something close so that you may re-install in same position). If it still sticks w/out TPS snesor, then it can be bushings, or by some outside chance, a bent/misaligned throttle blade or shaft. I have seen this.
Did you loosen the throttle blade screws prior to install? The blade may not be properly aligned.
If you have given up on the MB, I have several billet 58s (Accel units), but I also have and run two (2) MBs. They will work.
I have taken it off and it does not stick at all. It snaps shut and has no binding problems. I switched the IAC motor out of it with my old one that I know is good and I switched the TPS. I just don't get it. It only is sticky when the car is running.
No problems sticking here, but sometimes mine wants to idle in the 1200-1300rpm range. I'm too busy/lazy to mess with it right now. I think I remember someone saying something about a return spring on their's not being adequate and it was hanging open...I forgot who it was. Have you tried doing a search?
