I just did mine on an 88. Just remove the old stuff and scrape clean the retainers. Clean them real well. I took mine off of the targa top so they were easier to work on and clean. They come off quite easily, 4 screws I think. Clean them and put them back on with a bead of silicone between them and the top. Spread your adhesive and tuck the flanges of the rubber into the edges of the retainer. Make sure the rubber is seated well itno the retainer. That's all there is to it.

I just did one side, it is a PIA just because the scraping off old sealent etc. Get some 3M wetherstrip adhesive and 3M remover. Scrape everything very well, and make sure you seat the WS into the slots correctly and all the way. My window fits much better now, and is quieter, but I have a small leak in the front right corner now. Probably because the old header weather strip does not match now to the new?

Did my entire car this past weekend, sucks getting the old WS off. The new WS looks great and no wind noise at all!!

Great! Thanks a lot. I wanted to make sure I didn't tear anything up by ripping it out.
