I did some reading on the Accel Opti today... get this, it doesn't have bearings!!! It has Oil Lite bushings!!!!!!

Sounds like a product I'll avoid like the plague and one that'll go nowhere in the marketplace, given the availability of the DynaSpark.
I hope MSD had better sense than to make the same mistake with their new Opti replacement...
Be well,

Bogus,
I did the same homework a few days back when we were discussing the status of the MSD opti. I initially thought Accel bought a bunch of factory units and cleaned them up, but when I saw that there were no bearings at all I was a little concerned. Also the housings are cast like the factory unit. Not billet like the MSD and others. I have waited this long, I'm holding out for the MSD. I almost did a prepay on Summit, but figure I best wait and see what comes of the July ship date first.

The MSD does use bearings!
The sad part, a Accel unit is just as pricy as the GM part. I wonder if Accel has acquired the GM process or is dealing with a GM provider?

It won't fit Gen. I 1992-94 Opti applications anyhow. Early and mid-year LT1 owners worldwide can rejoice at this news, apparently.

Accel products are usually second rate anyhow. This is obvious after you sell their wares for a couple of years.
