Default Brakes

This is my first Vette, a 1990 L-98. The brakes are not real powerful. Every thing looks O.K. Pad, rotors have been turned once but are good. Everything is stock type equipment, no performance stuff. Whats the week link? Pad type, rotors need to be slotted or drilled type or the O.E.M. rubber lines? Thanks

Cross-drilled rotors are for looks, and steel brake lines are more for a solid pedal feel.

Do you have the RPO J55?

I'd start with a PF-Z pad if you want to keep it stock. Otherwise C5 brakes.

You might want to do not only a bleed but a complete brake fluid flush. Buy a set of speed bleeders and use a good synthetic fluid. I use Valvoline syn.

The above is a good place to start.

I have a power vac bleeder system. I don't know the RPO, I'm at work. I think I'm going to pull the calipers and look at the pads surface for glazing and spray everthing down with brake clean and see what happens.
