torque setting question - valve covers, rubber gasket
85 L98 - Based on the advice of the forum, I bought the fel pro gaskets that are rubber with a metal plate in the middle. The instructions say torque to 60 inch lbs. Would this translate into 5 foot lbs??? If so, that doesn't seem like a whole lotta torque to me.. but I want to be careful because I've been warned about over torquing.
Can I just use a torque wrench that is designed for foot pounds and torque to 5, or is this not going to be accurate enough? Thanks.
ps I am still trying to figure out why my haynes tells me I had to remove the alternator to remove the valve cover - the air pump bracket is what is really in the way.
