Default Working on 12.9?

Hey guys, haven't been to the track yet, but I'll give you the lowdown on what I've done so far.

Stock Exhaust manifolds, new fr-y no pre-cats, 3" single cat, new rear-y with crossover and flowmasters
24lb/hr injectors
TB bypass
Cut lid

Thoughts on where I should be and how to get to a 12.9? Mild Cam + Intake?

3.73 gears, and a 2500rpm vigilante (if an automatic) and some Nitto drags, and you will see a 12.9. Steve

I think you may need to improve the intake with runners and a base. I also don't thinkk you could get a 12.9 with the stock 89 cam..

I ran a best of 12.82 but my car was running way to rich and I have not been back since I tuned it.

Good luck

I am assuming you have a 89, so do not get the 3.73 gears and save your money.
3.73 are great for LT1's.

First you need to base line your car, should be around 14.0 at 98mph. Next I would do an aftermarket base & runner combo. Plus you need to do all the little/free mods such as cutlid,TB bypass, port the MAF sensor, k&N filter, and pullies.

Then a nice set of Drag radials would help big time. Take a look at my signature, I have cut about .5 seconds off my ET with these mods in great weather.

I agree with Vic... you would be way overgeared with 3.73.. 3.07 gears will give the best performance with a long runnered motor. You will need need head work, a cam, and improved intake to see 12's
