AC programmer
My AC has been working, but only through the front defoster vents in addition, the heat from the engine into the cab is enormous. When I took it to the dealer, he said the programmer connector had melted & may account for the problems. I'm thinking I can get a connecor. After some research, I am thinking the whole programmer must be replaced. Does this sound right? The price I received for the part is over $1200.00. I have a 96, my first vette, so still learning what is standard & what isn't. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanx

That vacuum fitting feeds the vacuum to the Programmer.
It might be worthwhile to pull the right injector cover and make sure the check valve is not cracked.
A common problem with the Programmer is the high wattage resistors on the Programmer circuit board can overheat and become defective.
Some have repaired the Programmer by simply replacing these resistors with new ones from Radio Shack. This could be done for a couple of bucks and some simple soldering.
If the Programmer electrical connector is really melted, that tells me there was a loose connection or too much current going through it.
If only the connector is bad and not the Programmer circuit board, I would try to get a new connector (or one from a donar vehicle) and install it.

At least this gives me a starting point, i didn't know where to begin. The information yo gave me is indeed, quite helpful. I'll post the results when I get them.
Thanks again
