Cold Start Valve for 88 corvette
since then no more problem with hot start, but the car took longer to start in the morning and I can see some fuel leaks at the valve. I have new O rings for the valve to replace, when I replace the intake mainfold gasket latter this month. How do I know that the valve still good and only need to replace the O ring? Should I replace the cold start valve this time.
Where can I get the cold start valve?
Do you have the part no. for it?
Thanks,
W/ the electrical connector off, pressurize the fuel rail. Does fuel come out of the injector? (A dribble is no big deal.) The injector should stay dry.
W/ the engine cold and the injector out of the manifold, turn the key to the ON position. Fuel should spray.
I'm told the injector is no longer available.
When bolting it back in, make sure it is properly seated, or the tab will bend, leaving a vacuum leak.
Maybe one of the places that rebuilds & flow tests injectors could R&R the cold start valve, otherwise, to a junkyard you must go.
Final possibility - upgrade your PROM code to $6E and forget about the 9th injector.
