I used "Z Rated" fluid from Autozone on the advice from a local guy who placed 3rd at SCCA Autocross Nationals. They carry it behind the the counter, but available. So far so good.
I think I only needed one container, but buy two just in case. The lines are pretty darn small.
I just flushed flushing mine a few weeks ago and the fluid was nasty and dark, I used 1 quart of fluid and had a few small ones as extras in case I needed them.
I used Castrol "GTLMA" as I read up and that and ATE "Super Blue" appear to be the best for high perfomance street use. Others have a higher boiling points etc, but may absorb water (moisture) at a faster rate, when this happens the boiling point lowers and the fluid is then less effective, so for high-perf street use you want a fluid that has a good high boiling point and that keeps it longer, racers use fluids that have the highest boiling points but have to change the fluid quite often.
I bought Ford fluid back in March, and it was considerably more costly than about a year ago (nearly doubled). It is no longer the low cost bargain it used to be. I've read that the Castrol fluid is very good.
Scorp, it's the same stuff. Ford/PFC "Z" Rated fluid. The Ford juice in the can *is* more expensive, and there's a few more ounces than in the plastic container.
I've found that you have to shop around for prices on this fluid. Some dealerships charge 2-3 times what others charge. I still find the Ford high performance fluid (from the reasonable dealer) to be cheaper than the ATE...

The Autozone Natick doesn't carry it, they looked at me like I had 2 heads. He told me that I needed dot 5 brake fluid :smash:
I ended up going to the Natick Ford Dealership. They got a big chuckle when I told them it was for a Corvette and when I used my "GM Card" to pay for it.
