[L98] Seafoam = smoke from EGR pipe
I used some Seafoam on my '86 via the brake booster line and while doing this there was a lot of smoke from the EGR pipe area. It happened pretty quick and then stopped. I couldn't see exactly where it was from since I was on the other side of the car.
Does this mean exhaust leak somewhere?

Good to know that this is common. Where would it be leaking out of? I wonder if this would be a good excuse to do away with the EGR altogether.

the egr tube is some convoluted metal and if it has ever been moved for work (like removing valve covers) it can split (mine did and i never bothered putting the insulation on it so i know i have a leak)

I only used 1/3 of the bottle in the intake and it didn't smoke all that much nor did I notice much difference. It took forever because I held the bottle at an angle and the vacuum hose vertical and let the suction pull the fluid out of the bottle into the booster line. I'm going to try it again this time I'll put a funnel in the booster line and just poar the seafom in until the engine dies. I don't think hydrolocking is an issue with seafoam since it's combustible.
