Default What's this called?

Ok, in taking off my Throttle Body to get to the fuel injectors, I broke a hose going from the passenger side valve cover to the TB. What is this hose called? Autozone couldn't find it, and I can't find it in my parts manual either. This is for an 89 L98 coupe.

If anyone has a name or partnumber for this thing, I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks in advance!

From your description, I understand it to be the crankcase ventilation system, inlet hose. In my parts book that is in group number 1.762. For 1988 and '98, the part number is 10055872.

On my 85 it's just vacuum line for crankcase ventilation. Mine has a rubber elbow in the valve cover which goes to a small metal tube that connects to another elbow that in turn connects to a longer metal tube that runs along the valve cover, at the end of this tube is the vacuum hose that leads to the throttle body. Just get a length of fuel line from any parts store and replace it. If that hose was that dried out I would seriously consider changing them all. Vacuum leaks on these cars can drive you nuts.

The '89's must be a little different. On mine it's just a rubber hose the entire way. There is a plastic piece that looks like a PCV valve in the valve cover that it connects to, and then it plugs into the the throttle body. But, because of the "bends" in the hose, just any hose won't work quite right.

Thanks for the replies! I'll see if Autozone can locate it by name.

Based on your second post...it is!. It is the fresh air inlet to the crankcase for the PCV system. The PCV valve is in the outlet hose, at the left valve cover. The outlet hose runs from the PCV valve to the rear of the intake manifold, where the vacuum of the intake draws in the crankcase gases for consumption along with the A/F mix.
