Default Thanks For The Tech Tips, Guys

Although I posted a TIA in my threads, I just wanted to thank you guys for all the help/info/opinions. My 91 has been so non-problematic for so long, it really warped my brain when a couple of gremlins made an appearance over the last couple of weeks.

Thanks Again!
Larry

Oh, c'mon. One of the reasons for coming on here is to learn what might be wrong, not necessarily to fix what is wrong! It is always better to be an informed owner going to get something fixed, than the opposite.

CFI, You have to agree, right?

Although I do all engine work myself, there are other items (transmission, windshield replacement, body work) on which I'd like to have background information so I have a clue before handing it over to somebody else.

So I understand completely. Be an informed consumer.

I do agree. But usually when someone LEARNS what is wrong, they usually go on to make the repair, with their new found knowledge. I just don't understand the post from CMYC4GO. He has fixed the "Leak in the AIR Tube -Fixed", which I was unaware of, and now is getting, "EGR code-getting fixed Monday". Does that mean that the info that he was giving thanks for, revealed to problem? If so what WAS (is) it? Did the well meaning (and thanked for) help, not uncover the problem and CMYC4GO is forced to farm out the repair? I'm not necessarily being critical of the action being taken, but as rick lambert asked, "So, what was the cure Larry?", I too, would like to know. I didn't understand CMYC4GO's answer, and wanted more info, that's all. Do YOU understand what was wrong with the car? If so, why didn't you explain it to me instead of:

Yes, but does anyone know if he will take it to a shop or is waiting for some time off work so he can do the work himself with his new found knowledge?

I fabricated, and installed a 1 piece air tube.
I'm going to tackle the faulty EGR valve, (which I had professionally diagnosed) on my day off, which happens to be on Monday.
I did not expect to have to run the gauntlet when I posted this thread.

And neither did I. I simply didn't understand what "EGR code-getting fixed Monday" meant. I had another thought on the subject, but I don't dare chance it. Good luck and thank you.

Hey, if you've got other ideas, I'd like you to post them. I drive a truck at night, 60 hours a week. When I sign on in the morning, I'm usually dead beat, and my typing sometimes doesn't convey what my brain is thinking. I sincerely apologize if my posts aren't clear, but don't talk to me like I'm some kind of retard, because I'm not.

Now...if you've got more ideas or thoughts, I'm eager to hear them.
