Dave is the the company, one man operation... He moved his operation to Arizona and probably has taken a bit longer than he expected getting everything back on track.

This is a home based business but he needs to conduct his business better. i figured i would order through him considering he offers a 10% discount but he also charges $100 for shipping so it is almost even he tells everyone 3-4 weeks which is stretching it and for me he never came through.
Hey Everyone,

First of all, I have to apologize for being hard to reach and second, I have to say I’m sorry for the very poor service.

Everyone here has been great to do business with over the past several years and the company has had some great times, but this past winter pretty well did me in with the poor economy. I had to figure out some way of paying the bills, so I partnered up with a fabrication shop in Illinois and I took a full time job in Arizona. Well to say things have worked out to my expectations would not be true; this thread is testimony to that. The fabrication shop has struggled at getting off the ground and has not been keeping up, simply because they need more training on some of the product build-ups. As of right now, the tickets are purchased and I will be flying back next week-end to get them caught up and hopefully up to speed. They produced items for me before and no one could tell the difference in the quality, so I can assure you that R-D Racing items will be what you are accustomed to. And hopefully, all the back orders will be wiped out in the next 2 weeks.

As far as getting a hold of me, everyone here is welcomed to call me at my home. I will be hard to catch, but I will get back to you somehow. My home number is 623-772-0049.

As far as orders go, I am working on getting an order line set up for someone to answer the phone. Some of you have already spoken to or communicated with one of the agents that I hired and things worked out great. You can also place your order through the web site and mention the forum and you will get a 10% refund when the order is processed on my end.

Again, I’m sorry for the delays. Between moving the shop equipment to Illinois and me to Arizona, it has taken a lot longer than I planned, but it will get better.

Thanks for your support and friendship,

Dave Cooper

I knew of your move but certainly was not aware of the other details. I knew there would be a reasonable explanation for the current problems and concerns stated in this and other threads. I certainly hope that things are on the upswing for you now. A forum vendor as good as you've always been is an asset to us all and deserves the best. And I know I'm far from alone in wishing that for you. Take care Dave and I'll continue to endorse your great stuff as I always have.

Why anyone would want to pick up and move there is beyond me.

Sprawl, Illegals everywhere (my cousin who moved out there took a sidejob at Walmart in addition to his main job as a reporter), too close to CA for my tastes (and their a$s1ne car laws). He said that WalMart would let the illegal latin -americans get away with skipping work on the weekends so they could hang with their gangs and shoot people.

Dave,

I am sorry for worrying people, I just had to speak to all the guys and see what was going on to be sure everything was ok. I realize you are backed up, and your fabrication team is in a whole different location. It must be very very hectic for you. I just got worried when i could not reach you at all. Now that i have a good number to reach you at i am very relieved. I am looking forward to finishing this order having future orders and telling everyone how good of a guy you are and how great your service is sincerely,

Paul Gilardi

What a bunch of broad generalizations. AZ is an awesome place and is probably the only other place I'd consider going from good ol' NC, perhaps at retirement time. BTW, I grew up in Ohio. Now there's a place that wild horses couldn't drag me back to. No one who chooses to stay there should cast stones!

Seriously, dizwiz... You're making these generalizations based on something your cousin told you? Got news for ya' - they're not true. I lived there for 6 years, and it was fantastic.

My in-laws, on the other hand, live in Ohio -- y'all can keep it.

Well, I, for one, am both glad and sad about R-D, and Dave's situation. Of all the vendors I can think of, this is a gem among gems.

Dave, I really am sorry about your situation and I hope it's improving, or gets that way very soon. But, I'm glad to hear from you and, once again, you give the full and complete story (maybe even more info than we're entitled to). Thank you for your respecting us in that way.

As to R-D, I believe it will get better soon (fusionr, good follow up post !). I will support their products until proven otherwise.

My good wishes and hopes of good luck for Dave C.!! I'm fairly certain that all agree with this.

Dave -

I am sorry to hear things went so bad for you... I can attest to being broke! I went through 15 months of unemployment... So I feel the pain.

Best wishes for a smooth transition! I will be checking back soon for a x-brace.

And not very vague at that! Even though I'm one of those 'mean, heartless conservatives' I can't bring myself to force for the return home of even the illegals as long as they are performing as good, productive citizens, as the vast majority of them are. Many of our spoiled native born citizens could take a few lessons from them in work ethic, family values and not expecting our government to support their sorry asses.

I am a moderate, politically, actually, more pragmatic than anything else.

And yes, these folks are actually very skilled workers. I have worked with these folks, and they are very good workers. They know their tools/equipment/trade as well as anyone. They are a good addition to our country, believe it or not. Their only weakness? They can't speak the language. Here, that isn't a problem, there are enough bi-lingual people to deal with it, and they try to learn enough basic things to communicate. It's this language barrier that hurts their earning potential, too.

Their kids also learn the language, which helps the adults.

I know more than one business owner who has told me that he'd hire all he could get. There's a lot to be said for the perspective of coming from somewhere where jobs are scarce and a living wage even more so. They generally consider it a privilege to be able to support their families and it shows in how they perform their jobs. We need an influx of appreciative immigrants every now and then to remind us how fortunate we are and how thankful we should be.

Default Thank You, Dave

I just thought I'd weigh in to support Dave Cooper. Its Sunday night at 8:30 here, and I just got a call from Dave responding to a call I placed to him this afternoon, concerning a camber brace I purchased last year, along with harnesses, a cross bar, and fire extinguisher mount.

I installed the other stuff last year, but held up with the camber brace because it would change my class eligibility in SCCA. Anyhow, despite the fact that the purchase was a year ago, Dave called me only a few hours after my inquiry on a Sunday evening. I would call that outstanding customer service, particularly given how much he has on his plate now with the move, new job, and trips bak east to oversee and train the new fabricator.

With regard ot the camber brace installation, it was kind of a bear on my ZR-1, but I did eventually git 'er done. Looking forward to testing it out at an upcoming autocross.

I don't think anyone would debate the quality of CS we get from RD Racing. I think there is genuine concern for why it's dropped off so much recently.

Dave is such a class act. I bought a camber bar from him, and then sold him some brake parts! A great transaction, period.

I have been wanting to get more bits from him (xbrace and targa truss) but have not had the $$ to do it... things are improving, tho!

I too can weigh in on Customer service from R&D, I ordered there bolt in roll cage, and Dave told 3 to 4 weeks. It took a longer then that and when it arrived it had a chip in the powder coating.
Needless to say, Dave provided great customer service and ended up makeing good on all my problems.

If you PM him he will always respond.
