Default Brake Master Cylinder Overflowing

I have a 90 with a brand new brake master cylinder. For whatever reason one reservoir will go low and the other will overflow. Any idea as to what is casuing this? Brakes have been bleed and they work great. Thanks for the help.

I think you need to return it for a new one.It sounds like one piston is leaking and forcing brake fluid past the other and filling that res.

Mine was doing the same thing. I read somewhere that that was a sign of the master cylinder getting ready to fail so I replaced mine.

you did indeed get a bad "new" one.

my dual cylinder needed replacement at 75,000 miles. same symptoms: front cylinder leaking into the rear one (internal piston/seal leak). then the excess from the rear one decides to upchuck onto the (hot) brake booster so you can that nice burning brake fluid smell from under the hood

by the way, here's to you, from one red '90 to another
