Finally installed my chip. Jesse hit it on the head. All fan settings, lock up, idle speeds etc, are exactly as I requested. Put about 100 miles on the car today. Seat of the pants and drivability are excellent. With the stock programming, the car ran good, but at coolant temps over 200 degrees, it had a habit of slightly bogging from time to time, surging and stalling. I tolerated it for many years. What a pleasure it is to drive now. I plan to put the scanner on it later this week and tweak it if needed. Fuel pressure and minor timing changes only. Then I will run it for some performace data. Even if the car runs the same et and mph, I feel I have received my moneys worth and more.
I expect that it likely will cover the 1/4 mile quicker and faster, and I will report the before and after the best I can. Thank you Jesse
I couldn't agree more! I took my 85 out today for the first real drive since installing Jesse's chip and it's not the same car. Just the slightest pressure on the accelerator and it literally jumps forward. Best $$ I've spent on the car.
I am one of the few guys that is content with the power, et and mph my car runs. The crisp throttle response and good manners put a big smile on my face. I will admit I am a tough guy to please. Pretty pleased today

A good tune is always money well spent and can make it run like a whole different car, driveability-wise. Glad to hear the good report Pete, although I'm not surprised.
I'm happy for you Pete, glad the car is making you . Just don't romp on it getting on the on-ramp to I-80 or was it 380, isn't that where you had that nice police officer escort you for like a mile ??
He must have been checking out the car!!!

I am lucky his pen was out of ink that night
I stayed local. I know all of the home boys.
Thanks Pete for the report. Sounds like things worked out well for you.
Probably going to be going to Beaver on Saturday to test out my new setup. Feels stronger than last year with the new cam design, but the proof is in the pudding (track results.). Got some last minute things to address on it, like rechecking the lash, and changing the oil, hooking up the accumulator.
If you can make it over, it would be cool to run with you.
Talk to you later and again if you need anything, just give me a yell.
I usually check this a couple of dozen times a day and try to get back to people as quickly as possible.
if there is not a reply in a day or so, please email me or try sending it again as sometimes yahoo must flag messages into my bulk folder which I do not go through.
Thanks and any questions please let me know! I will always try to help
