So I (BY MY SELF) pulled the tranny this weekend to send it up to Fresno to get built (just dont want to have to worry about it when the build up is done). That 4L60 is a PITA.
First on of the cooloing lines kinks and snaps (need a new one of those)
Then the freekn' TV cable, manual says undo 10mm bolt on housing, pull up till cable is exposed and unhook from trans. Next thing I know Im holding the cable in my hand, I undid the bolt and pulled up, and SNAP the thing cracks right out. (need new TV cable - ASR housing)
But it is out and going off to the builder today, and I dont have to worry about it agian.
Anysuggestions on where to get my parts. 92' auto coupe.
Last I checked, the tv cable is discontinued. Expect to pay a premium for a used one. They were $160 when available, for a new one. You can cut the trans line and splice in a new end for a few bucks. Piece of line, fitting and a compression fitting and you are back in business.
Do you rember how mutch? they are not too far and I need one
I think it was $225? or so... came with the converter and dipstick/tube.. sold the converter for maybe $20?
I also pulled it apart and installed new frictions and steels so far so good knock on wood..
I did this after having repeat failures on my first trans I think their was an issue with the case on it possibly causing cross leaks... But who knows..
