Default What does "volt" mean?

Hello all. I am looking into buying my first Corvette this week, a 1996 A4 coupe, however, on the digtital read out below the speedometer it says "volt". What exactly does this mean? The car is going to my mechanic today for a prepurchase inspection, but I would still like to know exaclty what that means.

Thanks!

Battery voltage incorrect = too high or more likely too LOW

the speedo on the 1990-1996 C4 will present voltage, coolant and oil temps when the "Gauges" button is pressed on the DIC. Press the big Fuel button and it will return to displaying the odometer.

Where is this 'Gauges' button? I don't remember seeing it on my 90 vert.

Not sure if the 90 has a "gauges" button. There is a difference between 90-91 and 92-96 on what buttons are on the DIC.

On a 92 coupe it is directly below the "fuel" button.

1990-1991 does not have this feature. Sadly only analog gauges for voltage and temperatures.

Damm. I like the digital gauges. I wanted to make sure my gauge was correct since I put on the reverse glow gauges.

Shame on you Bogus for giving me bogus information and getting my hopes up.

This is exactly what it means:
The International System unit of electric potential and electromotive force, equal to the difference of electric potential between two points on a conducting wire carrying a constant current of one ampere when the power dissipated between the points is one watt.

Named for some Italian dude named "Volta," if I remember rightly.
