Shift point on 95LT1 Auto
Are these cars supposed to get into redline before they shift? I have noticed when floored my vert creeps about halfway into redline and then shifts. I have actually backed off of it a couple of times because I was afraid it wasn't going to shift. I guess what I'm asking is how many RPMs are safe in the LT1?? :crazy:

Your car has a rev limiter that shuts off the fuel if the RPM gets too high.. Try putting it in D & FLOORING it until it shifts, or it "hits the limiter" you will know IF it hits the rev limiter by the sound, it starts breaking up..and sputtering... then just let off the gas...
Mine will go just a little past the 6000 before it shifts.. however I have the Hypertech & set it to shift higher, so yours should shift right about 6000..

These motors will rev with power. Stock I rev to just over 6000. With my new set up I'm short shifting at 6700 because of a weak trans but it will still make power to 7200.
