Default Can't Decide between Power Effects or Borla..

:banghead

Can't Decide... I have Borlas on the car now and with the 3.45's they only droan at low speeds, but sound good at higher rpms and at WOT..

BUT..

I just received my Power Effects exhaust and they look awesome, and I can't decide if I should have the muffler shop install it instead of the Borlas..

Damn decisions..

Anyone have video or sound bytes of the Power Effects close/open on their stock-semistock LT1?
(Yes I've found some on the forum but they are either heavily modified engines, or poor quality sound.)

Or anyone locally in CT who could let me actually listen to it? I'll buy ya a beer..

heheh I know where you got them

They are LOUD in the open position. I had them on my Callaway with no cats so Im assuming it would be close to an NA car with cats. In the fully closed position they were much more tolerable on the highway...wouldn't even think of a road trip with them open.

I HATED my Borlas on my 85..with no cats they droned as bad as the PEs.

No doubt about that. On the stroker with no cats, open is insane. :-)

Go for it would be my recommendation.

I have the powereffects system, I always leave it open. I don't have a choice anymore as the right side will only close about halfway...if that. I have LT headers and no cats. I consider my car semi-stock I guess.

It's pretty loud at low rpm, say 1500 or so. The low rpm cruise tends to make it difficult to hold a conversation. I'm a quiet guy anyway.

Here's a clip from inside the car with the windows up: http://vids.huntsvillecarscene.com/e...b/mov07778.mpg

Pretty big clips, may take some time to download.

Those vids are the reason I bought them at the first place.. I just thought ur car was modified.. Guess I'm keeping them and taking the Borlas off when I get some more mod money..

Thanks all...

ps. .I will be recording the exhaust of the borla before taking off some people can hear it.

Cool deal, I'd like to hear your clip. I'm still under 300rwhp, I think that's proof that it's basically stock. Is your profile in need of an update? Just wondering what else, if anything, is done to the white one.

3 days after owning the '92 I put a dana44 with 3.45's in.
Other than that, I'll be doing very small mods on this one.
Exhaust, Intake, Chip. Should get me to high 12's on a cold day..
The gears made a HUGE difference though..
