I am currently dropping in a NOS system in my 89 L98 and using an MSD digital RPM activated window switch to fire the juice. Does anyone have any opinions about this setup and what is a good starting to turn on and off the nitrous at? Thanks for the help

I have the MSD digital on my ZR-1 and have it set at 4000 on and 7000 off but the power bands are different on our two engines. On yours I would start out at 3000 on and a little under the rev limiter off. You definitely don't want to hit the rev limiter while you're spraying N2O.

This is a good question. I actually have done this on an L98 in an 85 I used to own. The torque converter in the 85 was slightly looser than some other years so my advice will vary depending on how much RPM you have to work with. If your L98 makes power from 2500 to 4500 I would set it up at about 2800 rpm and kill it at 4500 and I would short shift the car to keep it pulling hard. Now the question that is equally important is what gear is in your car. You may be wondering that the heck this has to do with anything but this is huge because the gear will limit how fast your car will rip though the RPM band and if you have a tall gear you will have more mph out of your lower rpm L98. Now if your L98 has been tweaked and you have improved the intake system and the camshaft and raised the RPM range of your engine you can safely raise your top side rpm safely. Feel free to PM me with your specific setup and I will be happy to help you.
