Default Plugging o2 header bung?

Tried the search to no avail. I am looking to plug the o2 bung on my EM headers. These are the standard headers 1 3/4. Do any of you know the size plug needed for this? Thank you in advance.

The weld in bung / plug kit that Summit Racing offers says "18 mm x 1.5", give that a shot

Go to a parts store and get an 18mm replacement oil plug, same thread pitch. Also an 18mm spark plug such as many older cars used will fit too. I'm thinking that's not what you had in mind though.

Is your car programmed to stay in open loop? If not, it won't run without the front o2 sensors.

My car IS programmed to stay in open loop but the sensors were left in so the computer wont throw a code. I think the computer still needs to "see" them or it will throw a code at ya.

Hope this helps someone, Tom

NAPA has the matching caps to plug the bungs they sell. I can
check back in old receipts for the p/n's if this would help. Could
take a while, best to call them first.

I had my tune done through PCM for less and had the sensors deleted. I do see your point about the computer "seeing" them. I really had not thought of that. Anyone else know anything about that?

The first part sounds good. As far as the second part.

Are you sure they deleted the front o2 sensors from your tune? Maybe the rear o2's? Looking at your profile I can't imagine why this would be done.

I am going to have to double check my paperwork. You really have me wondering about this. Well I just made it home and sure enough, it is the rear o2 sensors. Oh, well at least I know what size plug I would have needed. Thanks for the help and the suggestions.

I'll bet it's the rears that have been deleted. There are two on a '96.

That is correct, it was the rear two sensors that were deleted. When I got home from work I double checked the order form from PCM FORLESS. I guess that this is what happens when you buy parts and wait a year to put them on. You tend to forget what you were doing. Thanks for the input.
