I've got Flowmaster Super 40s on my 95 - when that was all I had done there was very little resonance... gutting the cats didn't change much at all, but switching the resonator to an x-pipe increased the resonance range into the highway zone - - for some people I can imagine that may be annoying - but no regrets here... I prefer the sound of Flowmasters - I plan to do long tube headers towards the end of summer and hopefully that completes the tone (I still would like it louder though - has yet to be as loud as my Ferrari was stock). I should probably film a new sound clip soon (I've been meaning to)... but here is how the car was with just gutted cats and Flowmaster Super 40s.... http://media.putfile.com/95-LT1-6spd...---Hooker-tips - I'm not sure how much of a different tone the LT4 produces...
And despite what a bunch of people say.... the Flowmaster Super 40s by themselves aren't loud (to me) in the slightest... though it takes some breaking in before you will know what they will actually sound like (tone and volume wise)... I imagine that may go for any mufflers...

The make a cat-back system for the C4s called the Force II, I believe. It utilizes the 50 Series mufflers and sounds very sweet. It's very reasonably priced too, compared to other popular systems. Personally I don't like the sound of 40s but this is a totally subjective matter, of course.
I had the Force II catback system with resonator behind my '92 LT4 (w/Hotcam) and full length headers. I loved it, inside the car was no resonance, and everyone in town knew the sound of my car and liked it, too. System is 2 1/2 inches, so I had to change to 3" with X-pipe and 3" Magnaflows because of top end flow concerns on high HP 383. I still miss my Flowmaster, though.
I put the force II cat back system on my 95 six speed. I love them. No interior noise to speak of, and a great sound when you get on it. (It also sounds good sitting there idling). Very easy to install.
I have flowmasters on my LT4 and I love the sound. They were on the car when I bought it so I'm not sure what series they are. It does resonate in 6th gear at freeway speeds, I don't mind it but it is there. If I drop down to 5th the noise level is cut in half at the same speed.
I have flowmasters on my 93 LT-1 Vert. I do love the way they sound. They do have some resonance while in 6th gear at around 1300 rpms. On a long trip like I am going to take this summer, they do get on your nerves after awhile.
i have a flowmaster cat back on my lt4 and the 50 series mufflers were too quiet for me. i switched to super 40 mufflers and its still pretty quiet. by the way, the tips on the flowmaster catback are ugly so i switched to stainless lt1 style tips and they look great.
I'm thinking of getting Flow masters on my 96 LT4. Anyone out there with flow masters. How do you like them? Any regreats?
Hooker LT's, high flow cats, eliminated resonator, 3" tubes into flowmaster 40's. Love the sound and can set off car alarms if i rev it in a parking lot.... However a fair amount of interior resonance.... so i had to up-grade the stereo system...
