The driver side door on my 91 vert is not aligned with the car. The top is in about 3/16th's of an inch and the bottom is out about 5/8ths. This is causing a water leak at the door/dash connection, which puts water on the speakers and floor.
I have attemped to loosen the hinge bolts on the door side and the door has not adjusted. I tried doing the adjustment while the door was closed and open. While the door did adjust a little, and closes better, it was not enough to correct the alignment.
Should I just pull the door off the car, remove the weather striping and start from scratch, or is there a really great trick to get the door aligned process? That is if it is possible at all?
Maybe your hinge pins and bushings are worn out. Open door and lift up and see if the door will raise up any. If it moves up any you need to replace pins and bushings.
