Default Willcox corvette versus Corvette Rubber

Hello can anyone tell me if there is a difference in W/S between Willcox Corvette W/S and Corvette Rubber W/S? I am noticing that the W/S that Willcox has is made by Corvette Rubber but is $60 cheaper.I have A 91 and the Front pillar windshield W/S is $145 at Corvette Rubber and only $85/90 at Willcox Corvette thanks for any experience.

Here's my experience with Wilcox.

Purchased rear hatch weatherstripping on E-bay.
Had the "reinforced corners". It was dropped shipped from Corvette America. No name on the weatherstripping or packaging.

When the box arrived I could hear there was something loose in the box. Turns out one of the metal L shaped reinforcement brackets had come unglued from the rubber.

I glued it back on and while installing the weatherstripping, one of the corners started to open up. I called Wilcox.

The guy answers the phone and puts me on hold. Comes back takes my name and number and say's he'll get back to me.

3 Days latter no response. I leave negative feed back on E-bay and immediatley get an e-mail from the owner saying I should have called. He leaves me negative feed back before he even contacts me.

I explained the situation and he said he'd investigate. He also said he's sold a lot of the same weatherstripping with no problems. Implying I must have did something wrong.

He e-mails me back saying to send the weatherstripping back never admitting one of his worker bees dropped the ball. I declined and said I already gave his company a chance to make it right.

His tit for tat attitude was a big turn off. So I'll take my business elsewhere.

1 year latter the other corner has now split open and I still have to use two hands and slam the hatch to get it closed.

If I remember right, I used that weatherstripping for the hatch, and b-pillar about a year or so ago.

It still looks and works good.

I used GM for the window sill weather stripping. Its fitment was better then the other stuff, but it's coming apart and cracking after about 8 months.

Default Willcox versus Corvette Rubber

Thanks guys I have dealt with (The Last Detail) Atlanta Corvette for interior, and engine parts all GM and AC Delco products and also used their repro W/S for the door mains and hatch with absolutely no problems.Think I'll stick with them for whatever parts I may need in the future. I would highly recommend them I haven't heard to much about them on this forum but from my experience would differently deal with them.I asked the ???s because of the cheap price but as usual you have to be careful.Once again thank you very much.

I also had an issue with the rear hatch weatherstripping from Wilcox. I contacted the company and a fellow then contacted me and explained that a bad batch of rear hatch weathstripping were received from the vendor. Two days later I received a new one and has been fine for over a year.

I'd like to post his name, but out of respect, will not. Perhaps he'll read the post and chime in.

I did my entire car with Corvette Rubber and love it. No leaks or wind noise!

I just did mine with Corvette rubber. They double charged me in error and one phone call and it was fixed with their apologies. Good service. The stuff fit right and works well. It's too soon to comment on the durability but it is sealed with dielectric grease and hopefully will stand the test of time.

I bought a kit from wilcox that had the rear hatch in it. Two years ago and it still looks brand new. No water leaks anywhere! All the weatherstrips had the CRC logo on it too!

I had a problem with a carpet set that was cut wrong. I called them and they went out of the way to make it right for me. They had a replacement carpet section to me in five days.

How do you get the pictures to show up by your name?

Did my entire '85 with Wilcox. All the weatherstrip came in Corvette Rubber boxes. I too was curious how they can sell for so much less than CRs website, but I've learned not to look a gift horse in the mouth. All the weatherstrip I received from Wilcox has fit 100%, excellent quality and FAST shipping. I've bought many more products from them to restore my '85. I've personally found them excellent to deal with.
