1992-96 Adjustable Throttle Position Sensor Kit
Is there really an advantage?
Here is what is in the ad:
The TPS (throttle position sensor) is a variable resistor connected to the throttle shaft on the throttle body. When the accelerator pedal moves, the TPS sends a signal to the computer. The computer calculates the fuel delivery and the air being consumed based on the throttle valve angle. Our adjustable TPS lets you fine-tune your Corvette's throttle response for maximum performance by changing the voltage of the sensor. The stock TPS is preset and cannot be adjusted. Out-of-adjustment TPS's can cause erratic idle, stumbling, surging and overall poor engine performance. The TPS kit includes the sensor, replacement connector/terminals, test jumper adjustment tool and instructions
Some might use it because they are not seeing 100% (99%) TPS at WOT.
I slotted the holes on my '92 because my aftermarket 58mm throttle body needed to be 'lowered' at idle.
Some tuners/experts like the TPS to read between .60 to .70 volts at idle, others like to set it down in the mid .50s, depending on the application/engine mods.
You should scan your TPS volts, throttle angle %, and RPMs to confirm if you need adjustment to the TPS position. Anything under .70 volts, at 0% angle, at your DESIRED idle, is generally considered normal.
