Been looking around trying to figure out which plugs to run so I figured this would be the best place to get some advice. Its a 1991 L98, stock. I've looked at all the Bosch Platinums, but have heard mixed stories about them, has anyone out there tried the AC Delco Platinum plugs??
as long as it throws a good spark, it really can't get any better or worse...any new plug will be able to fire all that a stock L98 will need.
for heavy forced induction, NGK's really can't be beat (so i hear) - that's what i ran in my talon TSi AWD at 25psi with 660cc injectors and had no issues on stock ignition with 8.5mm wires
NGK's are good plugs, but why spend the extra money when AC Rapidfire's are just as good.
I've tried a lot of plugs, and for my money, the AC plugs work the best in a L98.
Yet another vote for NGK, but spark plugs are just like any other subjective battle. One person will say NGK, another AC, and somebody else will say Autolite. Some people become Chevy fans because they had a Ford or Mopar that died on them, and that can go the other way also.
I run NGKs in every one of my Vettes. Some people like the iridium and platinum but I run the copper ones. The next time around I may switch over to the platinum ones.
I had Bosch Platinum 4 plugs and my car was less responsive. I took them out 3 months later and returned them for my money back. I took my old AC delcos that I had and tried the cut-back method with my trusty Dremil for the heck of it. That was 7 months ago. Still runs great but I want to put new set back in.
