My neighbor, who is also a mechanic, rebuilds peoples calipers when he does their cars at home for side money. The caliper rebuild kits can be found at most popular auto parts stores, like napa and others. However, you prob need to rehone the piston cylinder walls and also,if you have aluminum calipers,it may be even tricker to get it to seal right.
The kits he bought cost about 5 or 6 bucks...shop around.
Excellent link and exactly what I will need sometime soon. I have a pair of GS calipers and they will need the piston boots and seals replaced at a minimum before I install them. How will I know if they need to be honed as Bill mentioned? Are there any other issues to look for while I have them taken apart?
