Does A/C compressor have to come off?
I'm finished the driver's side install of 1.6 rrs and new gaskets, but the passenger's side is killing me. Does the compressor have to come off? The intake runners? Any tips would be great before I go berserk. Thanks! Ben

Yes - but no need to discharge the system - the hoses have enough flex so that you can remove the 4 mounting bolts and move it towards the right wheel well. Beforehand, unbolt the Accumulator Retainer and then move everything as an assembly being careful not to bend any of the hard lines. In order to remove the valve cover, you will also need to remove the compressor bracket. It's mounted to the front of the head and you will also need to get the smog pump solenoid (if equipped) out of the way. Should you disconnect the solenoid harnesses, note which goes where. They will fit on either terminal and if you reconnect them backwards, you'll dump air into the headers during closed loop and it will run like crap.
