Default 58mm Holley TB Cable adjustment Issues .... accidental solution?

Well i posted a while back how with the TB off the car I was able to manually open the throttle blades past 100% wot. Turns out the opposite is true and the same problem that soo many posts ive searched are having with these Throttle bodies (asm/holley). At WOT with the TB ON the car, they are opening 70% or so.
Throttle body is the correct year (93).
Went through the cable adjustment sheet provided with the TB, same problem.
I've read about the adjustment not working. I've also read about removing the Holley linkage and pressing the stock TB cable assembly on it.

My basic question is can anyone explain simply how the cables are adjusted? 93 six speed. I've read so many posts that i dont know who to believe. I don't have a shop manual ( i bought one off ebay but got scammed last month for it :/ go figure ).

Now the interesting part. I had a R-d racing accelerator pedal in a box nearby that i was just too lazy to install. I decided now would be a good time.. perhaps it would provide more leverage on the cable. After i installed the mount i realized there was nothing wrong with my Old one.. and now there was actually a little more play in the R-D one where the hole machined in the R-D mount for the pin to go through is slightly bigger than the pin (nothing ever seems to go right for me). SO the pedal wiggles a little more than stock up-down and a little left-right.. i push the pedal WOT, and ... same thing. Now before i call bs and re-install the stock pedal assembly... i push the cable button adjustment thingy and i feel it move and pull tighter. Hmm.. I sit back in the car and Lo and behold... 6 hours later.. WOT !!!

Before i left tonight it still seemed right on.. it was opening 90 degrees to WOT without any issues at all. Only problem is i know the cable assembly needs adjustment because i was pushing the buttons and pushing/pulling everywhere with the cables So.. tommorow i will go back and try to readjust the ASR / throttle cables as per Holley instructons and hope i still see WOT. If i do then the R-D gas pedal mount does indeed solve the problem of bad linkage angle/length on these aftermarket TBs. Ill update tommorow !

You need the factory manuel to adjust the ASR and even with the factory manuel it is not that easy to perform.
You need two people to realy adjust the cable right.
The pedle thing made of alum is just to replace the plastic.I still can't get full throttle.I just use datamaster and on the TPS I elongated the holes until you see 406 and that is as close as I can get the thing to be at WOT.50 at Idle and 406 is the range I can get.
Hope this helps.

in one old post someone said to squeeze the adjuster on the cable and have someone push the pedal down to wot from inside... this can't be the way to adjust it per manual but we sure didnt try it. any thoughts on that?

Also does this need to be done with the car on or key to power the acc.? I know the ASR unit has a motor in it and thought maybe it needs power to self adjust

Congrats,
The reason I had to install te stock linkage on my Holley is because I am 90% sure I had a 92/93 TB and my car is a 94. In looking at the 92/93 GM TB's I can see the differnce with them as well. Glad you found a solution and good luck with the ASR
