Lacys'87Vette
I have 87 Vette/convertible, the Check engine light was coming on and off last fall and she was stalling occasionally at stop signs.Checked air filters & cleaned, changed distributor cap and parts Rotor. Also new plugs and wires, runs better but still has hesitation on cruise, appears to be getting too much gas.Put on computer it called for new Map Sensor, replaced that. did not correct either problem. Took it to GM, they said the intake seals were leaking, changed them still have same problem.I told them to check Injectors when they changed the gaskets. Now the asked for the original map sensor as they don't trust after market Sensor. I'm wondering if it could be the plug-in for map Sensor. It is still in the shop, i am just wondering if anyone else has had this problem with their Vette. This Lady would appreciate any help from fellow Vette owners that may have had this problem. This female is having Vette withdrawl BAD !!!!! LACY

It's easy, all you need is a paperclip, and eyeballs. Stick both ends of the paperclip into the right side plugs on the top row. Turn the key on, and count the flashes from the check engine light. Flash pause Flash Flash is a code 12. Each code will flash 3 times. Report back to us with the codes that come up.
Map sensors were not on these earlier cars, only the MAF sensors...the relays for the MAF sensors are sometimes problematic..so it would help to have the check or service engine light codes to see what the problem is...I feel bad you got taken on repairs that never fixed the problem..if you meant new MAF sensor and it didnt fix your problems,I would bet the MAF power and Burn off relays, located on the firewall behind the battery area,is the problem.Good Luck!
