I need to take my vette to get some work done, and cant decide if it should go to the dealer, or the local vette shop. The shop has been around for thirty yrs and has a good rep, and the dealer is, well a dealer. so i dont know. any suggestions would be helpfull.
Sounds like you already answered your own question. My take on it is go to the dealer for warranty work, to buy parts not available elsewhere, or as a very, very last resort. A reputable shop is worth ten dealers in my book.

Are you sure you really need help with this decision?
thank you for your opinions, i kinda figured it out shortly after posting this thread, i called the dealer to price having my headlight motors fixed. they said $580apc! it is only $160apc at the corvette shop. so i know where to go for all my vette needs. Thanks.

dropped the car off at the corvette shop today, they where very profesional. so far it looks like i made a good choice. let you know more when i pick it up.
just got a call from corvette country( the shop), and was told my tranny cooler line is leaking bad, making it smoke. and also the fluid was low and air was getting into the valve body causing it to slip. also the engine had a leak by the dip stick, minor leak. so for all the leaks, dropping the exhaust to get to the cooler lines, repairing my headlights, and replacing rear wheel bearings wil cost about $650. not bad i think.
