Default SLP triple threat intake

Saw this on another members car really like the look and im thinking of ordering one any opinions they claim 20 horse, from personal experiance with cold air intakes on other cars they always seemed to make the car slightly faster and added a cooler noise so my question is, is this kit worth it. heres the link if anyone wants to check it out http://www.slponline.com/view_product.asp?P=21028

most people here will tell you that they are only worth a couple of HP and of course 300 bucks isn't worth that. We all just cut out our air intake and jam a K&N filter in. Same result.
Having said that it does look cool (no pun intended).

The surface area of those 3 filters is equivalent to what you'd get if you just cut the stock lid and exposed your filter totally.

Its also drawing air from the same place, so it is not a cold air intake.

It looks good, sounds good compared to stock, but does not give those power gains.

If you must buy one, buy a used one and save your money for something that will give you some real HP. Headers, exhust, heads, etc.

I wonder what ever happened to that company that was supposed to be selling a ram air kit for the c4. Something like ramaircorvette.com. They said check back soon for dyno results, then they dissappeared. hmm

I'm not sure if it's mine you saw, but I can speak from experience on other cars I've owned that it really doesn't add much power if any. Not without other mods along with it, like opening up the exhaust more. It does look cool, but that's an awful lot of money to look cool. Mine came with it when I bought it so I guess I'll leave it on.

Its called the SLP Claw and its a POS. Back to back track testing of this intake vs. a BPP intake shows a 2/10's difference, with the Claw yeilding slower results.

Even though I know the SLP intake will not provide any additonal HP...I still got to have one. After spending untold dollars on a 396 forged stroker, ported heads, long tube headers, catback, and on and on...what's another $300 for something that looks cool.

The POS looking cut lid under my hood just doesn't cut it (pun unintended).
