Default Cross fire injection+big cam???

I have an 82 vette who's motor recently went bad. . .
I got a new 4 bolt main block that I am building up with aluminum heads
and a lunati valvetrain. . .

The cam's lift and duration Is drasticly bigger than the stock cam. . .
I was wondering if anyone knew if it would be able to function properly
with the stock computer settings?

in short...no...you will need to tune it

the stock ECM is pretty much a waste, so count on getting a 7747 or 8746 ecm and having a PROMinator installed and learning to do it yourself, OR finding someone who can. also, you should be running full exhaust, with a ported intake/xram and larger TB's with that combo if it's substantially more radical.

What are the cam specs? I am guessing you are not changing the stroke of the engine. Are you increasing the overall compression ratio? If you place a much larger camshaft there is a good chance you may be running out of intake airflow before the cam starts making any kind of power.

check out crossfire injection vault.like the above post says a 7747 ecm with a good chip or prominator is good but you can get more compression & more cam than the CFI can handle

Not sure what overall cam your are interested in.. Stay as close to 15lsa with stock ECM! I have a Comp Energy Cam 168h i believe... on the 14lsa grind. I couldnt be more happier! I didnt have to do anything special to get car to run great after rebuild. Best advice - check out the crossfire vault. There is a lot of good information there regarding the xfire..

when I was running a CFI motor I had 2.25 injectors with 90lb ss454 truck injectorswith the 421 motor I ran 17 lbs fuel pressure but I could turn GP up to 25lbs it would overfuel at low RPM but over 65K there was no problem. With the stock injectors I was running out of fuel by 4 grand with all the fuel pressure I could get. Thats when I got discusted & built a 434 monster with a carb.If you run a flat top piston & a cam with not too much duration you should have a good street combo. I built an injected motor with268 comp &1.6s, built same setup fo neighbors el camino with a carb. He dynoed 366 hp at flywheel
