On my DD (part show car) I can pick up ceramic brake pads at NAPA and cut down the brake dust considerably. Haven't tried yet, but thought I'd ask if anyone has experience with the ceramic pads on an early model Vette or have any other pad suggestions to help with the dust.

I have a 90 with ceramic pads and love them. The brake dust is so minimal that you can barely see it.
Thanks. I just did search on "Brake Dust" (which I should have done before posting) and everyone seems to agree that the ceramics are the way to go for less dust.
I've been running Napa Ceramix for over 2 years now...you will like them...very, very little dust and what there is you can barely see since the pads are light beige...

One thing you have to understand..I have gloss BLACK wheels. Even light beige will show up, but if it's a very small amount, I should be able to keep to top of it without too much trouble.
I went with the Bosch ceramic from Advance Auto. NO brake dust, stops great, lifetime warranty against wear out/defects.
Hmmm. Passing there tonight on the way to a Corvette Club meeting. Will have to stop in and check em out.
UPDATE:
I just called Advance & Auto Zone and both said they didn't carry Ceramic pads for my Vette...what gives.
Advance also said, that ceramic pads (all of them I guess) call for the rotors to be honed/shaved before using the pads. Anyone know anything about that?

You should always turn the rotors (or put on new) when changing pad types.
There is a cool link that was on here at one time to a brake pad manufacturer, which explained very clearly why. It was a great source of information. Was it Stoptech?

Advanced Auto here does not stock them, but got them from their Atlanta warehouse the same day I wanted them. (Bosch Ceramic Pads). Why they would not be available in Florida is a mystery?? Sadly none of the parts stores turn rotors around here (too many epa regs) and the brake shops want to much money unless they are doing the whole job. I just sanded my rotors down by hand to 'freshen' the surfaces, and then checked them for true and put them back on for now.
