That other thread is me. I put a link to a dyno sheet showing before and after results. Contrary to popular belief, there was NO loss in low end torque, and that was before the H-pipe. I put the H-pipe in under the trans bellhousing and had 2.5" pipes, no mufflers or cats. It'll definatly "talk" to you ;)
Interesting discussion. It's really great being a member of this group
Anyway...I got an estimate from another shop and it was also $250.00. I'm going to do it as soon as I can get a day off from work. When its finished I'll have separate pipes from the manifolds all the way to where the system ends at the KBD Targa mufflers with the twin 3" tips. I hope that I'll have gotten close to that "Mid-Year Sound"!
I've designed and built my own system that allows me to run true dual exhausts (2.50 dia), to PowerEffects tuneable muffs....AND when smog time comes around, I unbolt the 'center section' and replace temporarily with the 'cat section'. ...and yes a crossover pipe is used. Very important. The cross-over enhances power and exhaust tone. :seeya
