i was just wonedering if anyone can tell me about the ring of rubber sealant on the bottom of the maf sensor (bosch unit).
mine has half come off and im wondering if this means that i may need to get a new maf.
i am getting a code 36.... ive checked voltage, connections, changed relays seen the wires burning and all seems fine..... there is no reason i should be getting this code that i can understand.
the only thing left to do is change the maf..... and then the ecm.
so with this seal being busted....... do you think its time for me to change the maf even if the burnoff is still occuring???
Hate to say this, but I'd probably get a piece of duct tape, run it around, clear the code (disconnect the neg. battery for 1 min.) connect an start it and see what it's like. Did you happen to check the wires to the fuel pump relay, and replace that relay also?
i checked the wires to the fp..... cleaned em up and made connections tight, but didnt replace the fp relay.
the car does occasionally have a bit of erratic idle, but not all the time. if the the fuel pump relay was stuffed, would i be able to start the car?
To answer your last question, yes the car would start after oil pressure reached approx. 4 lbs.. FP relay if shot would only prolong starting until the afore mentioned.
