Replacing A Parking Light Lens....Any Helpful Tips?
Just noticed that my pass. side parking light lens (the one that is closest to the tire - clear lens) has a few cracks in it, and I'd like to replace it.
Is this a hard job? How would I go about it? Thanks in advance. :D

This is not a bad job - just took theparking light housing off the driver's side of my '92 today - had 1/4" of water in it! Lousy rain lately - got my garage tore up so the car's outside! Now to figure where the water's getting in and get some RTV in there!
There are two 8mm hexhead screws above the light assembly - take the bulbs with their sockets out first, then the two screws, then you have to deal with those damned plastic barbed fasteners that hold the two harness connectors in place for the lights - overall, shouldn't take you more than 10 minutes to get the thing out! Good luck!

I just did this on my '91. This job is a little involved. You have to remove the entire front urethane cover. It is not rocket science by any means to remove this piece; (just have to remove all the screws across the front just below the hood when opened, the fronts of each wheel-well, and all the way across the underside incl. the front air-dam). When the front facia is removed you will see both lenses fully exposed. The lenses are a B*%@# to remove. They are held in place by two clips on the top and two on bottom and there is a tacky rubber gasket that glues it in place. Just takes a lot of persuasion and prying. I inquired about replacing mine at Chevrolet, but naturally you have to purchase the entire light assembly for $175.00!!! Mine just had a lot of silt inside them so after I cleaned them up I carefully glued them back on with a smooth bead of clear silicone cement. There is no other way to access these lenses. Not from the back, only from removing the front facia. Anyways it is not all that hard just takes a little time!

Man, I think that I can live with the lens the way it is for a while. Your description sounds pretty involved. The cracks don't jump out at you; you really have to be looking for them in order to notice them, but as I am always in the pursuit of perfection, I figured I'd replace the lens. Now, I'm not too sure.
Thank you for the insight, you've certainly given me something to think about.
