It's been a long time and we are not done yet but my son and I fired up the 84 this weekend. We are not legal yet so we don't know if there are some missed details but so far things look good.
If anyone can help on a couple of items we could use the info.
Question One: Why doesn't the cooling fan some on untill the temp gets to 226 or according to the book 239? Doesn't that seem a little on the warm side?
Question Two: Are there any specs for adjusting the TV Cable? I don't have the special little adjusting tool and would like to check it. We just left it the way we found it for now.
The OD rebuild was slow because we learned as we went and we didn't get a lot of connected time to work on it. We made this Milestone anyway. Paint is next. fitz
The fan coming on at 225 is the stock setting. You can get a new temp switch that mounts in the passenger side head between 6 & 8 plugs that will turn the fan on at 200 and off at 185. I have that in mine. For more info on cross fire cars, come over to http://www.crossfire.homeip.net/
a discussion forum dedicated to the cross fire cars. Hope to see you there, Lots of good info
Congrats Fitz, I'm thinking of converting my valvebody to the newer style, which I believe is full-pressure shifting. Did you upgrade to the extra clutch pak or stay with stock?
We went stock on the rebuild. Put about 200 in parts and lots of hours. We will know more when we get temp tags tomorrow. I'll look into the temp switch. Maybe it is only a problem because we have been idling a lot. I prefer the fan to come on sooner is all. Sounds like others do too. Did everything work out on your rebuild? Have you got one of them on the road yet? fitz
