What was on the car if you ordered the spare tire delete? Did they fill the hole with something?

My friend just bought a 40,000 96 coupe with spare tire delete . there isnt anything were the spare would be stored .

It would come with a bracket GM list as "Extension, Rear Inpact Bar - Spare Tire Delete". RPO code N84. It was part number 10265938, but doesn't appear to be in the system any more.
