Default code 32 ??

I got a code 32(EGR) today, mine looks pretty new. Does it signal a vacuum leak or is it a sign of a relay?
Also, at the same time, my cruise control started acting up. I set it to say 60 and the speed will slowly start dropping. It is like the cruise's vacuum is not holding, can this be related to the EGR?
This is the 1st time I used the cruise in along time and the code popped up early in my drive and I didn't turn the cruise on till later.
It is an A4.

the first step towards checking for a code 32 is when does it happen.

If it happens at startup, it's more than likely the EGR switch.

If it takes 20 minutes or so (warm up, closed loop operation) then it's the valve.

Now, before we condem the valve, take a close look at the vacuum hoses. Also, trace the vacuum hose from the cruise servo back to it's source.

Lemme know what you learn!

yea. It's just like the 92. It's on the left side of the intake, near the back. between the injectors, bolted to a stud that holds the intake to the head.

ok, finally got to it yesterday. I replaced one of the vacuum hoses and the car is running better, but still running rough.
I get the code when it is up to temp.

Remove the EGR valve and put a vacuum like from a MityVac to it. You should see it suck in and out and also determine if the valve itself is torn or has a hole in it. You will also be able to see if the valve is gummed up with carbon deposits.

Don't know if this is connected, but the right side(passenger) has a weird sound coming from it, like the engine was loping real bad. When I took the injectore wire off the injector it would disappear and when I put it back the loping came back. Did not matter which wire I took off the right bank, you could also hear it out the back. Both sides smelled of gasoline, but the drivers side sounded about normal, with a hint of a miss.
