hey fellas, i have a 95 lt1 6 speed, with about 75000. Lately weird things have been happening when my drivers side door is open, sometimes the dome light flickers on and off and just the other day when i opened up the door the radio stayed on , when it is supposed to shut off when you open door, and the alarm armed itself with the door open, i have pke and it never did that before. Just wondering if its the door switch has a short. I tried to take it out but i couldn't pull it out enough to disconect. Any way of telling that this could be the problem? Thanx for your help , drive save alot of 5-0's out this weekend
ok happened on my car too where all the interior lights stayed on. Open the door fully on the passenger side and go down where the hinges meet the door and there should be a button??? Ok thats the switch it may be bad to where it does not work or it may need some extra pressure there so take some ducktape and a piece of "SMALL" cardboard and work it in there until it fits on "BOTH" the passenger and drivers doors. If this does not help your gunna have to get new switches which I ended up doing. Its a cheap fix for a college student. Sorry im not much help. Hopefully someone smarter/more wealthy will chime in. Good luck.
point shown. Why not use household fixes. Better than the import crap we have to now put on our vettes. I just found out that vettes are "made" in only BowlingGreen Kentucky but all the parts are brought in from mainly Australia like the calipers ect. Tawain all the electronics and of course China backinig up the rest. Might as well drive a honda.
the door switch is the culprit. I have taped a coin to the door jam to make the lights go out before. Get some WD-40 and spray on the switch and work it back and forth. Sometimes they need adjusting as well or replacing.
