Busted Fiberglass!!!
Somehow a huge chunk of concrete ended up being in my lane under the trestle here in Pensacola and I couldn't avoild going over it. I was following a Camaro and there was a truck in the other lane, so I had no choice but to go over it. It made an awful noise hitting the bottom of the car on its way through. :(
It looks like the only damage is the corner of the passenger side rear storage compartment. The fiberglass is showing here. It really just looks like the gelcoat was knocked off. What can I fix this with? I don't want to leave the fiberglass open like that.

small area kitty hair....large area cat hair....or JB Weld
I used this stuff when working on the wifes toyota....way better then bondo.
I honestly dont remeber the brand of that stuff...but it was some kind of bonding material with fiberglass in it.....the cat hair had larger fibers in it..
I believe my friend got it at a boat repair shop....

Dave, your local Discount Auto Parts store carries every thing you will need. A small glass repair kit or the glass reinforced putty. Also have JB Weld if you need it.

Remember you are not working with fiberglass, It's SMC (sheet moulded compound), fiberglass will not stick well. I use a boat repair product (marine epoxy) called Marinetex. It works great! I use it exclusively for SMC repairs now.

So what is the best thing to use?
I have a bit of a crunch under the drivers side foot well, on the front corner, right behind the drivers front wheel. I would like to fix it up and make it strong. JB weld?

I'm not sure what the best thing is to use, but I had a crack under my fiberglass floor pan too. I bought a fiberglass repair kit from the local Pep Boys...it includes some fiberglass sheet and epoxy and hardener. Pretty easy to apply, though a bit messy. I highly recommend wearing rubber gloves since the epoxy will stick on your hands for days.

Almost a year ago I repaired a serious stress crack between the driver side door and hatch. It was recommended to me to use SMC3 Panel Adhesive by Evercoat. It was easy to work with and was formulated for the Corvette panels. It was the second time this crack was repaired and it is now still looking good.
