After a little troubleshooting today I've discovered my reverse switch is no good. ( None of the lights work, but when the switch is bypassed, they all work).
Looking at the switch, it seems to just screw into the trans. housing. How the heck does this thing work? Is there a pick up in the switch that detects the position of the gear shift internally ?
assuming you have the zf6 , your reverse switch is the one at the top and closest to the engine on the tranny (3 electrical devices on the side of the zf6.. reverse switch, skip-shift solenoid in middle, and vss near back) ..
you can get the switch out without removing the tranny.. brian's was messed up because he tried plugging a skip shift eliminator plug kit into it  which then messed up the switch connector and we couldn't get some needle nose pliers in there with the trans in the car to fix the electrical prongs and straighten them out.
kind of like the little kids game where you put the round block thru the circle and the square block thru the square.. if it doesn't fit, don't try to force it! .. more solid proof..
so don't fret, it's an easy fix for ya..
I had to replace the one on my 4+3, sounds like it is in the same general location. There was not enough side clearance to get a socket over it, so I had to use a pair of plies to turn it off and then back on. Overall a pretty easy fix.
hey bri, if you have $1000 i'll answer that question in a heads up race  i'll even run street tires :jester
that's all i'll say for now, don't want this thread to get too far off subject
thanks for caring.. haven't really missed any real track time.. waterford hills is not a fun course.. maybe after they re-surface it, if that ever happens.. they've been promising for 3 years now.
hope you can make it to road america next year :smash:
