How much to paint the hood ?

How much to paint the hood ?

Some one just hit me in a parking lot. There is a small chip, about a 1 inch square near the drivers fender. Also the molding is ripped off.

I was thinking about having the entire hood painted, any ideas on cost ?

I'll try to post a picture tommorrow.

NOt cheap. Price will depend on the going rate in your area. Do not be suprised at an estimate well above a grand.

The cheapest i've been quoted is $250. I don't think you'll find someone to do it this cheap normally though.

I had mine repainted after a collision with a golf ball. It was $ 325.00.

I'd be more concerned with paint match. Of course I know you're frustrated that happened to you anyway. Prolly between $400-500 I think..Just guessing.

I just got a quote from a custom shop in my area. I've got a custom paint job on my 1987. Very flat paint job. I've seen their work and they say about $350 for the Hood.

Why are you repainting the whole hood? If it is because the clear coat is chipping or some other flaw that require the hood to be stripped, it will be much more expensive.

I'll have a picture up tonight, then hopefully you guys can give me advice.

I just though if it is not much more to paint the entire hood, I would go that route.
