I followed an article I found on this forum and adjusted my transmission cable (1988 auto) as described. Now the shift from 1st to 2nd on light accelration is at about 1500 to 1700 rpm and similarly from 2nd to 3rd. It is a nice firm shift but a little high on the rpms I think?
Does this sound about what everyone else sees?

The cable for the 700R4 (4L60) transmission is a TV (Throttle Valve) cable. It is not a "kick down", down shift, or any other kind of "variable adjustment" device. If the article was for the FSM adjustment of the cable, you are right where you belong. The cable is NOT to be adjusted to alter shift points or shift quality. To play with the specified cable adjustment can easily cost you a transmission. Shift points can be manipulated by recalibrating the governor by experimenting with different weights and springs.
