I bought a set of C5 calipers with the adapter brackets but they don't seem to fit. They were on a 88 while I have a 93. The brackets look like the ones in this thread..
they don't seem to put the caliper centered over the rotor. Does anyone know if there are different ones for different years? these brackets were made by Ed Salinas. Is he still on the forum?
If they are different, does anyone know where I can get them. Also is there a link with any pics of these installed?
Yes, there are different ones for different years (85-87 and 88-96). However, yours look like the right ones for your year(based on the link). The 85-87 one is a straight bracket with holes on both sides.

The caliper bracket for an 88 is different than from a 92-96. Just buy new caliper bracket's bracket. I have the C5 upgrade and it is an improvement. Like Gordon Hillbrew told me "they never had good brakes"
does anyone have any pics of their brakes showing them installed with the brackets?
I used to have a link from a magazine that had pics & instructions but I can't find it now.

I tried to get everything together yest & still no luck, the bracket doesn't seem to be centered over the rotor. Maybe I'll try another rotor & see if that is the problem. attach rotor pic
if i don't get this figured out I'll just sell everything & forget about doing this upgrade
Show us pictures of how you have them mounted, and what it looks like when it doesn't align up.
don't have them mounted, when they are it seems like the caliper bracket is about 1/4" too far inward, almost like I need a spacer on the rotor. I've checked the part# of the spindle & it is the correct one for my car so I don't know what's going on. I might try to see if the brackets are backwards other than that...
Looks like you have them on the wrong side. You need to have the circular depression mounted against the spindle ears. That should be your 1/4" offset issue for the caliper placement on the rotor.
looks like my problem is the guy sent me the WRONG rotors..I'll know for sure tomorrow but the way it sits on the spindle is not right. Now I have an extra set of rotors I have to sell once I figure out what vehicle it fits.
Have you confirmed the brackets you purchased allows the caliper to clear the factory sawblade rims on your 93? If not, you may have to purchase new rims.

Yes, Please let me know. I am upgrading my 93 as well and would like the C5 breaks with my saw blade wheels.
Just a question. With your C5 calipers, caliper brackets and bracket adaptors. Did you buy a C5 rotor for this or Are you trying to install these componets with a C4 rotor.
Why?
Because, the C4 rotor is bigger (diameter) than a C5.
I was supposed to have been sent C5 rotors, the rears fit fine but the fronts are offset more than the stock one that I bought for a trial set up yest. I had to order 2 frt slotted ones since I want them to match the rears.
To Jacklag, I changed my wheels so I don't have that fitment problem.

now that I've done the upgrade I want to put in the DRM spring, but I couldn't get one of the lines to break loose on the master, tried break away but still no luck. Any ideas, somebody said to try heat but I would not use anything more than propane.
I would not recommend baking your brakes . Besides, you would have to heat the master cylinder to get it to expand off the line nut. A good bit of penetrating lube I would recommend. WD40 or something, and be sure to use a good quality line wrench. Also, if you heat the metal line nut it will become softer and expand into the master cylinder, so if you do heat up the master cylinder try to cool the line nut. The stuff is called Heat sink; a local hardware store would have it.
