My wife was driving our '96 coupe Wednesday morning when it started to skip. When I got to check it that evening, I found that #5 intake rocker arm stud broke just below the roller rocker nut and lock screw.
I first thought that I might have installed the wrong push rods, when I built the engine. I got all my part numbers up and called Comp Cams to make sure every part in the valve train was correct. They said everything sounded good to them. I physically checked the pushrod and rocker arm part number this afternoon to make sure they were correct. I found all items to be correct.
What could cause the stud to break off? Fatigue? Do I need to replace all of the rocker studs?

I'd definitely replace them all. Are these stock studs? A set of ARPs will run under $40 so don't waste money putting stock ones back in. If you have roller rockers, go with the 1.75" length.
