replacement glove box hinge springs
The third and last hinge spring for the center storage compartment on my `91 broke.
I tried to modify some springs from ACE Hardware, but they didn't work.
Of course, GM parts will sell the whole door assembly but not the springs themselves.
Anyone know where you can get them? Or know of a good substitute?
Thanks

I got a spring only from one of the catalog companies, thumb carefully thru your Ecklers or mid america catalog.
Got it, pg 249 mid america cat (Grand Sport rear on cover) 603-198 console lid spring 84-94 (I think it'll fit 96 too) $6.99

I think you're talking about the flat spring for the button.
I'm talking about the three hinge springs that hold the door open/up. I need the door to stay up so I can change the stations on my Sirius controller.
Thanks anyway.

Try a junkyard. I had a lot of success getting miscellaneous parts off of cars that looked beyond hope, but still had odds and ends that worked.

You might want to check out MSC Industrial Supply. They have a catalog that has just about everything you could ever want in hardware. Don't drop it though, you might break your foot.

Yeah, sorry, misunderstood. Haven't sourced that other yet.

Did you check online with Eckler's or Mid-America Motorworks (MAM)?

Yep, and you have to buy the whole lid assembly.

Just to be clear, you need the spring for the door of the center console, correct? If so, I may have one. Send me a PM.

As Desi used to say to Lucy, let splan this to you; I have a console door in my car, that works. I have a new console door in a box next to my computer, which I have not yet installed. if you want the old door, with its functional spring , it is yours for the cost of shipping. What do you think?
Again I say, if this is what you need, please let me know.
