Default L C D

I noticed my LCD speedo display isn't nearly as bright as John G 92's Car. I think the bulb for daytime use is burnt out..it's not that bright orange, easy to see color like His either. Is there a bulb I can replace? Or does the cluster have to come out? Also it has a draw from the LCD. I posted this a while back. If I put a test light on the battery terminal(negative disconnected I think thats right) the light is on... indicating a short. If we pull the LCD fuse, the light goes off.

Can any tech heads shed some light on this?

Hey Dude,
Cant help ya any with your dash issue, but letting ya know Im back online now.
Been busy with the moving here.
If it helps, most dashes Ive seen always had some bulbs in there to be changed. You prob need to do so.
Wouldnt hurt to put new bulbs in and watch it glow real nice.

BTW, Im going to install your old shorties you sent me from the exhaust system. My drivers side exhaust flange for the Y pipe broke before and it was tack welded back on.
But the weld has since broke loose again causing a exhaust leak at the Y pipe.SO im going to clean the manifold up and use the MAD manifold dressing and rub that thing to a silver finish.
My vette is still in Indy, :( and I need to go pick it up and bring it down here in Ky soon.
Ill take a pic for you so you can see how nice the shorties will turn out when Im done with it.
Whats cool about the MAD dressing, it rubs on like makeup and wont flake off or turn a different color.Hides the rusty appearance too.
Just requires a little upkeep of some extra dressing once in a while to maintain its silver color since will eventually wear off.I did my old ones a year ago and theyre still looking good. Some rusty color coming back through but nothing a little polish again wont shine up.

Ill keep ya posted.
TTYL!!!

Hi dood!

Ohhh you missed all the fun! Go back a few pages and see my latest escapade! It'll amuse you how STUPID it was. It's titled.. NO IFS ANDS OR BUTS MY CAR IS CURSED... there's one showing the "FIX" too :D.

No biggy on the LCD... I am sure some tech heads who rip dashes apart will chime in. I'd never noticed it before..but now that I see how it should be, I wanna get it done.

Good to hear the JD shorties are going back on . I had heard a few people say the manifold dressing works well. Hope they go on hassle free for you and provide you with good service.

It was good to hear from you. Keep your chin up! Moving sucks. I've seen it done..but never yet had to do it.. Hopefully I won't either any time soon.

Take care. :seeya
